EARLY 18TH CENTURY
The rectangular featherbanded and crossbanded parquetry moulded top with central circlular medallion inset with the initials 'JP' above two short and three long drawers, on later gadrooned bun feet, the handles original, the three lowest drawers with locks missing, the top left drawer with pencil inscription 'LEFT HAEND'(sic.), the lowest drawer with typed paper label 'CHEST OF DRAWERS WAS A PRESENT TO MY MOTHER FROM HER UNCLE, MR. HENRY DAVIES, WHO DIED IN 1737 BEFORE MY MOTHER HAD COMPLETED HER TENTH YEAR, D.G.', probably originally with a low stand
