The rectangular moulded cornice above a cushion frieze drawer, the double-featherbanded and quarter-veneered flap enclosing a hinged and ratcheted beige-velvet lined writing surface, and revealing an interior enclosing nine drawers, six pigeon holes and a well, around a central cupboard enclosing a further four drawers, the lower section with two short and two long graduated drawers, on later bun feet, with two depositary paper labels at the back reading 'DUNN'S DEPOSITORIES/BROMLEY, KENT/CAPT. HUNTER/13.7.1939' and inscribed in blue crayon '353', also with a chalk inscription reading 'BATH', the interior handles apparently original, the lower handles replaced, the sides previously with carrying handles
