Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming manufacture of the present watch in 1981 and its subsequent sale on 5 May 1981 and the original fitted stainless steel and cork presentation box inscribed Nautilus Patek Philippe Genève. Furthermore delivered with the photocopy of Patek Philippe Munich invoice dated 9 July for a restoration of the watch for the amount of Euro 2,101.
The present watch has never been offered in public before. Furthermore since its overhaul in the workshops of Patek Philippe in 2004, it has not been used and is in excellent condition, the rarity enhanced by the original fitted "Nautilus" cork box.
The legendary Nautilus collection was introduced in 1976 when Patek Philippe was looking for a strong design of inimitable personality. An inspiration for such a timepiece soon emerged: The universal shape of a porthole found on virtually all maritime vessels. Since then, the Nautilus has established itself as a classic elegant sports watch and the original reference, 3700/1 such as this watch, is one of the most sought-after timepieces at auction.
