Each with a rectangular top with solid three-quarter gallery centered by scrolls, with a bolection molded frieze and beaded border, on stop-fluted columns and rectangular plinth bases, the reverse of the back uprights with signs of further backing

Lot Essay

A pair of related mahogany side tables by the Irish cabinet-makers and upholsterers, Williams & Gibton, was offered anonymously, Christie's, London, 30 November 2000, lot 90. They also had fluted front columns and panelled back uprights on short plinths at each end. The tables dated from after the death of the John Mack in 1829, one of the partners in the original firm of Mack, Williams & Gibton.
