Of rectangular section, the back cut in Tiefschnitt with the portrait in profile of King Albert of Saxony above a laurel branch, the bevelled front with a crowned foliate frame flanked by two lion supporters to the upper part, in a blue velvet-lined fitted case

Albert Wiegel (1869-1943) was a Kassel glass-technician, engraver and sculptor, and worked primarily from photographs; see 'The Journal of Glass Studies', Corning, 1973.
