London: Thomas Bennet, 1705. 2 volumes, 2° (385 x 240mm). 2 engraved frontispieces, double-page twin-hemisphere map of the world, portrait of Francis Drake, 9 maps and plans, 3 folding, 17 plates, 3 folding (frontispiece in vol. II repaired on verso, world map lightly browned, map of north pole cropped at upper edge, a few mainly marginal tears without loss, occasional light spotting and staining). Contemporary panelled calf, spines with red and black morocco lettering-pieces (rather worn, joints split but most cords holding, upper cover of vol. I detached). Provenance: Thomas Westfaling (early signatures on front pastedowns). FIRST EDITION. Sabin 30482 (calling for a total of 9 maps and 23 plates).
