Friesland, apparently unmarked, first half 17th Century

Trunk-shaped, on four ball feet supporting a spreading rim, the filigree rectangular body and domed cover pierced and decorated with scrolling foliage and applied with gilt lion heads with drop-hoop rings, the underside engraved with an elegant couple in a medallion surrounded with an inscription: "getrou * tot * in * der * doet * Anno 16", and further engraved with fruit and foliage to the outside - 7.8cm wide (134gr)
