INCISED QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-95)
Of rectangular shape standing on an integral gilt-bronze stand, decorated on the top with a single lotus bloom borne on leafy tendrils, the sides with florettes and the stand incised with floral scrolls

Lot Essay

A very similar inkcake stand was sold in our Paris Rooms, 23rd November 2004, lot 180. Cf. a cloisonné enamel brushrest, which probably forms a set with the current stand on the scholar's table, sold in our Hong Kong Rooms, 30th May 2006, lot 1223.
