SECOND QUARTER OF THE 18TH CENTURY
Delicately enamelled at the centre with two butterflies in flight above composite flower and fruit sprays, including tree peony, prunus, orchid, magnolia, iris, dianthus, gourd and bread fruit, within a trefoil-lobed panel reserved on a blue and white scrolling foliage ground, the well with a narrow yellow and red scroll band, and the curved short sides with four elaborate floral cartouches alternating with flowerheads on a band of black and gilt flowering foliage, the underside with green cracked-ice pattern on the sides around a finger citron and floral spray at the centre
