Château Mouton-Rothschild--Vintage 1988
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
very good appearance. Levels base of neck or better
Tasting Note: The bouquet by now opened up and spicy; rich, singed flavour. Yet still youthful looking, with a rich, toasty nose which then reminded me of a warm tea and, after an hour, 'sodden wholemeal biscuits'. Palate full of fruit, delicious flavour, easy to drink, very rich but a slightly bitter on the finish. June 1998 ***(*) M.B.
