The mesmerising colour, now known as 'Paraiba', is a description of the electric greenish blue typically seen in tourmalines from the Paraiba region in Brazil. This particular colour has now become so well recognised that it is used to describe the spectacular hue not only in tourmalines, but also in other precious gemstones.
