A group of six late 18th and early 19th century gold and enamel mourning rings
comprising: one with black and white enamel the oval bezel with central neo-classical urn motif, the hoop with the legend, BENJ'N KENTON ESQ, OB: 25 MAY, 1800, AE 82; one of black and white enamel with central cartouche baring the legend JOHN BOYDELL, ESQ, ALD'N, OB: 12 DEC, AE 86. within white enamel border to matching tapering shoulders; one of black and pale blue enamel the oval centre with the initial C within wreath, the reverse engraved, Alderman Champion ob 9 Aug, 1799, Aet 55; one designed with a rectangular cartouche engraved with the initials R V to open wirework shoulders and hoop, the reverse engraved Rich'd Veale Esq'r obt. 31 Aug 1807 Aet 85; and two with central oval locket compartments and black enamel striated decoration, one engraved on the reverse, Cha's Worthington Esq, died, 29 Aug, 1819, Aged 57, the other engraved Caroline Atkinson Aet, 41 (6)
