Lot Essay

This 'stove urn' conforms to a late 18th century Carron Company design in the Scottish Record Office. Founded in 1759 by John Roebuck, Samuel Garbett and William Cadell the company enlisted the Adam brothers to provide ornamental designs for firegrates and pedestal stoves.
