A Prototype Paper and Steel Chair, circa 1991
40¾ in. (103.5 cm.) high
corresponce with Cappellini on chair and a note stating This is the model for leather chair. It would be nice to have copper rivets holding leather onto frame (like a bicycle saddle) (or Levi's Jeans).

Lot Essay

The chair was apparently given to Cappellini as a model with instructions of possible upholstery. There are corresponces between Cappellini and Tom Dixon in addition to other documents and marks on the seat of the chair indicating location of the rivets.
