Arts et Métiers Graphiques. Volumes 1-68 [all published]. Paris: Arts et Métiers Graphiques, 1927-1939. 68 vols., quarto (310 x 245mm). Original printed covers, the two special issues in the original ring binding (occasional light wear at spine, occasional light soiling).

FIRST EDITION. A COMPLETE SET OF THIS VERY INFLUENTIAL GRAPHIC DESIGN PERIODICAL, and an essential reference for the graphic arts of the period in all print media: advertising, photography, prints, posters and books. Its publisher Charles Peignot intended to produce the world's most luxurious magazine. 'Until the Second World War forced the magazine to cease production, Arts et Métiers Graphiques was one of the highest standards for graphic arts magazines of its time' (Introduction, AMG Web, Rochester Institute of Design). The set includes the special issue dedicated entirely to Photography (number 16), and advertising (number 42). Issue number 8 is complete with the rare 'Bonafé' poster by Jean Carlu -- indeed a number of posters and images are only known by virtue of having been reproduced in this publication. Separate series of annuals for advertising and photography were also published (see lot 157). Fotografia Publica, p.49. (68)
