A George III English lacquered-brass Jones' Most Improved-type compound monocular microscope,

the tapering body-tube with eyepiece and objective, attached to main limb by arm with rack-and-pinion adjustment, the limb with rack-and-pinion adjustment to the stage, the stage with wings for forceps and bull's-eye condensor and platform on pins for adjustment, with substage plano-concave mirror, the limb attached to central tapered pillar via compass joint and supported on flat tripod supports, with five nosepieces, lieberkuhn, four ivory slides and other accessories, in fitted mahogany case
