LATE CLASSIC, CA. A.D. 550 - 950
the cylindrical vessel with highly distinctive stucco in black against the pink ground, surrounded along the rim with a band of chevrons associated with ceramic ware from Chama, representing a palace scene with supernatural beings including a crosslegged ruler seated on a masonry dais leaning forward with a right hand raised in a ritual gesture wearing massive plumed headdress and jewelry, followed by a seated supernatural attendant holding a glyph, possibly chih, before him the glyph chih with a large scrolling plant emanating upward, another seated dignitary leaning forward and supporting a massive headdress with the seated, skeletal-bodied God A behind him wearing a patterned cape.
