AN UNUSUAL COPPER-RED AND UNDERGLAZE-BLUE DECORATED JAR
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
Of globular form, painted in copper-red and underglaze-blue with a pair of five-clawed dragons chasing 'flaming pearls' across an ocean of rolling waves, below a border at the rim of five panels each enclosing a character, together reading Long Zhu Cang Hai Zun, the name of the jar, vessel with dragons and pearls in the ocean.
