Lot Essay

It is very rare to find cloisonne enamel plaques decorated with landscapes in the style of traditional brush paintings. Compare with another cloisonne enamel plaque copying a segment of an Imperial handscroll painting sold in these Rooms, 30 May 2006, lot 1267.
