The rounded rectangular box with overhanging cover decorated in gold, silver and red hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, hirame and nashiji, gold and silver foil, on a sparse nashiji ground with folded poem paper and a presentation floral spray, the interior with a bird in plum blossom, slate suzuri [ink stone] and a gilt bronze mizuire [water dropper] modelled as a duck
