Rectangular box, the matted gold cover boldly chased and embossed with a scene depicting the hunter Cephalus and a deer lying with an arrow in its side, in a landscape, within a cartouche framed by polished reeded c-scrolls and foliage, reeded bold mounts with raised foliate thumbpiece, the baluster sides chased with hounds, deer, a fox and swans on a sablé ground, reeded c-scrolls and flowers, polished gold base
