A young gentleman, in black coat, white waistcoat and shirt, blue striped knotted black cravat, dark hair and thick side-whiskers, wearing the ribbon of the French order of the Legion of Honour at his left lapel; together with a young lady, in short-sleeved lace-bordered black dress with pleated bodice, her brown hair upswept and dressed in rolls (by Louis-Théodore Herman, 1826)

ovals, 3 1/16 in. (77 mm.), gilt-metal mount engraved with foliate border, and 3 1/8 in. (80 mm.) high, fitted hinged red morocco case, the front tooled in gold and stamped SOUVENIR (2)
