A LURISTAN BRONZE DISK
CIRCA 900-700 B.C.
The hammered disk slightly convex, decorated in repoussé and incised with a standing female figure depicted frontally, wearing a long pleated gown, the belt ties falling across her waist, a veil draped over her head and held at her sides, her oversized face with bulging almond-shaped eyes, the lashes radiating, the triangular nose merging with the finely-incised brows, a slit mouth and tapering pointed chin, the center-parted hair also finely incised, several rosettes in the field, perforated twice on each side for attachment
