Lot Essay

Frank Brangwyn visited Venice in July 1928, which would be the most likely circa date for the execution of this work. He was known to have loved what he described as the 'soft air' of Venice and painted more than fifty-five watercolours of the city.


We are very grateful to Dr. Libby Horner for her assistance in cataloguing the Frank Brangwyn works featured in this sale.
