A silver-inlaid bronze figure of Bodhidharma, 17th century
the serene figure standing with his head turned slightly to the right, cast with a pronounced browline above a piercing gaze, the eyebrows, beard and areas around the ears finely granulated indicating the hair, his clasped hands holding a flywhisk and covered in the folds of his windswept robe reaching his bare feet and decorated with clouds, a foliated scroll and Shou tang shi sou inscription ('Shisou of the Immortality Hall'), Li gang zhen cang ('collection of Li Gangzhen') mark to the base -- 11 13/16in. (30cm.) high.
