A Sino-Tibetan gilt bronze model of Maitreya, 18th Century
seated on a rectangular plinth, his hands held in dharmachakra mudra, the 'gesture of teaching', wearing beaded necklaces and body jewellery with inlaid turquoise enbellishments, wearing an ornate headdress and flanked by twin lotus flower sprays, scrolled sutras to the interior of the hollow body -- 9 1/8in. (23.2cm.) high.
