A rare, early Märklin US-market clockwork 'American Eagle' Passenger Train, circa 1900
US-outline 0-4-0 Locomotive, Cat. Ref. 1030, hand-painted in red and gold-lined black, with red wheels and pilot (cowcatcher) lined in yellow, without coupling rods and plated steam dome and bell, with bell and brake operated from cab and four-wheel Tender in green-lined black, with loop coupling (F, bell cradle and one hand rail mount soldered, chimney cowl missing, varnish discoloured to one side, some bending to cab roof and tender edges), with bogie open-verandah hand-painted Passenger Cars with clerestorey roofs, each emblazoned with American eagle and Stars and Stripes transfers - one dark blue lined in yellow, red and dark blue and one orange lined in yellow, maroon and red (F-G, one coupling and two door handles missing) with eight curved track sections
