THE LADS FROM LIVERPOOL WHO REVOLUTIONIZED POPULAR MUSIC. From the first group of professionally shot publicity photos after Ringo Starr replaced Pete Best. The four stand on the deck of the Salvor on the Liverpool docks. The decision to garb the four rockers in conservative suits and ties was the work of manager Brian Epstein. He forced them to shed the black leather jackets and turtlenecks they favored in their days playing at the Cavern in Liverpool or in the dives of Hamburg. Epstein rightly calculated that a cleaner-cut image was essential for winning over the massive American market, which the Beatles took by storm in 1964. A RARE EXAMPLE OF A GENUINE SIGNED BEATLES PHOTO FROM THE EARLY PHASE OF THEIR CAREER.
