NOTE:
Zhou Zhaoxiang (1886-1954), also named Yang An and Tui Weng, was a descendent of Song dynasty scholar Zhou Dunyi and a native of Shaoxing in Zhejiang Province. His painting studio was named Bao Gu Lou. he graduated from a law school and once was the Provincial Governor of Hunan Province. He established the Research Institution of Chinese Painting in Beijign and went to Japan for cultural exchange in both Chinese and Japanese art. He was proficient in connoisseurship and orchid paintings.
