NOTE:
Huang Xinbo (1916-1980), originally named Huang Yuxiang, was a native of Guangdong. He went to Shanghai in 1933 and participated in the League of Left-Wing Writers and League of Left-Wing Artsts led by Lu Xun; he also organized the Wei Ming Wood Carving Society and advance the New Wood Carving Campaign there. In 1949, he returned back to Guangzhou with the PLA. Huang served as the Director of the Guangdong Provincial Fine Arts Studio, the Chairman of the China Fine Arts Association Guangdong Branch and the Director of the Guangdong Chinese Paintings Academy since the 1950s. He held solo exhibitions of wood carving in Shenzhen and Beijign in 1978 and 1979.
