Text within wood-engraved border throughout, 9 coloured plates with movable flaps (4 flaps missing, occasional light spotting and staining). Original printed paper boards, remnants of ?original yellow dust-jacket (lacks spine, a few stains). Provenance: "Miss Brown From Mary Golding, April 30th/[18]41" (inscription on front pastedown). cf. Osborne I, 418 (citing second edition of 1821): "The nine plates bear hand-coloured engravings of toilet appendages with movable flaps which reveal appropriate virtues."
