FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY inscribed on the half-title 'A Monsieur Henri Martineau avec tout mon amitié pour "Le Divan" - respectueusement, Raymond Radiguet'. The Stendhal scholar Henri Martineau was the proprietor of a book shop in Saint-Germain called 'Le Divan', a meeting place during the 1910s and 1920s for a group of poets -- the so-called 'fantaisistes' -- including Francis Carco, Jean-Marc Bernard, Tristan Klingsor, Tristan Dérème and Jean Pellerin.
