Provenance: Henri Parisot (inscription from Ernst in black ink on half-title). FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED BY ERNST to his friend Henri Parisot, the author and translator, with whom he later collaborated on their edition of Lewis Carroll's Hunting of the Snark. Carmel is Ernst's second collage-novel.
