(Lots 28-30) Francesco Paolo Michetti was primarily known as a History painter and printmaker. Born in Tocca da Casauria, he learnt painting from a local fresco artist. He went on to study under Domenico Morelli (1823-1901) and Edouardo Dalbono (1841-1915) and was a pupil of the Neapolitan Academy. His works were exhibited in Naples, Turin and Rome and at the Paris Salons of 1872, 1875 and the Exposition Universelle in 1900. His works can now be found in the Collections of the Galleria d'Arte Moderna, Venice, The Berlin National Gallery and The Art Institute of Chicago.
