Vittorio Emanuele I, King of Sardinia, (1759-1824) was the second son of Vittorio Amedeo III, King of Sardinia, (1726-1796). He succeeded his brother, Carlo Emanuele IV, (1751-1819) upon the latter's abdication in 1802.
