2°. 50 engraved plates. Red calf, gilt title on spine, large decorative gilt cartouche on the upper cover, crimson silk endpapers (lightly rubbed and scuffed). Provenance: Ex libris of Vittorio Emanuele III, King of Italy (1869-1947).

Uncut copy on thick paper, one of the only 150 hors commerce copies of this important work on statuary from the XIV to the XVIII Century from the collection of Alfredo Barsanti with a preface by Wilhelm Bode.
