A GEORGE III SILVER COFFEE BIGGIN & SPIRIT STAND,
MARK OF PAUL STORR, LONDON, 1809,
The wood handle terminating at base in twin serpent tails & at top in a serpent's head resting on a pair of wings, ribbed girdle around neck, ovolo border above a fluted frieze, the lip decorated in relief with an anthemion, engraved armorial to one side, the stand on three paw supports with three drop ring handles, on triform base, the spirit lamp with an associated Old Sheffield Plate cover, 10¼ in. high (26 cm.), 53 oz.
