Lot Essay

It is believed that this was made by a particular maker who used a distinctive name ribbon edged in gilt-tinsel. Two are recorded in private collections, and another sold in auction in New York. A similar woolwork fully dressed wqas sold these rooms 11th July 2006 lot 38.
