A Japanese lacquer kashibako (box for cakes), 19th Century
of mokko form, raised on four supports, the black lacquer ground decorated in hiramakie and takamakie with a flying dragon amongst scrolling clouds and geometric motifs, with silver kiku finial -- 7 3/8in. (18.6cm.) wide.
