A Japanese octagonal baluster Imari vase and cover, late 17th early 18th century
decorated with alternating floral jardinieres and a blossoming tree in a fenced garden, below a border of lotus petal panels enclosing peacocks amidst rockwork and prunus and a bird of prey perched on a fruiting branch with another swooping down, all below the shoulders with a continuous border of pavilions in a mountainous landscape, the neck with floral cartouches, surmounted by the similarly decorated domed cover with a pearl finial -- 34¾in. (88.2cm.) high.
