A Chinese ivory puzzle ball on stand, 19th century
the concentric balls carved and pierced with a number of smaller star patterned sections within an outer case carved with two dragons, with their eyes picked in black, amidst cloud scrolls, the tall stand comprising several cylindrical sections rising to the rounded tray, the lower section carved with two dragons amidst cloud scrolls framed by lotus petal panels, supported on a similarly carved splayed foot -- overall 10 1/8in. (25.7cm.) high.
