A Cantonese famille rose vegetable tureen and cover for the Portuguese market, late 19th early 20th century
with deep lobed sides rising to the irregularly shaped foliate rim, surmounted by a domed lozenge shaped cover with an oval shaped finial, the cover decorated with two roundels enclosing the Portuguese flag each with six-character inscription flanked by cartouches enclosing figures in a terrace and birds amidst fruiting and flowering sprays, all reserved on a foliate gilt ground also on the rim, the tureen similarly decorated with cartouches, the interior with fruit and floral sprays -- 11in. (27.9cm.) wide.
