COURBET, Gustave (1819-1877). Autograph letter signed, to 'mon cher bon ami', n.p., n.d. [December 1855], 2 pages, 8vo.
Courbet is so guilty that he hardly dare write, but is in the midst or arranging his exhibition; exasperated at having to wait for a frame for a month ('les doreurs devraient tous etre pendus'), he is plagued with changes and payments ('d'est à perdre la tête je ne suis vraiment pas né pour les affaires.... ça m'a été très agréable car je suis dans les payments jusqu'au cou'. Courbet also talks of a play to put on at the Variétés in which Arnal is to play his part.
