The hood with reeded front and barley twist rear columns, glazed side panels and caddy top, the trunk door with oval lenticle and bird and flower marquetry, conforming marquetry to sides and plinth set upon bun feet and skirt, the 12 in. square dial with wheat-ear engraved border, mask and foliate spandrels to the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with sword hilt half hour and diamond half quarter hour markers, the matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring, engraving around the date square, ringed winding holes and blued steel hands, the five ringed pillars movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike on bell; pendulum, two weights
