Lot Essay

Charlotte Keppel was the youngest daughter of Frederick Keppel, D.D., Bishop of Exeter, Dean of Windsor and Registrar of the Order of the Garter (1729-1777), and his wife Laura (1734-1813), daughter of Charles Lennox, 1st Duke of Richmond. She married, on 24 December 1802, Robert Foote (b. 1783), High Sheriff of Kent and one of the Gentlemen of the King's Privy Chamber.
