with golden mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs and hump, circa 1909 --15½in. (39.5cm.) high (a few small bald spots, some thinning and wear, faded, pads damaged and hand pads recovered); and a photograph of the original owner wearing a S.M.S. Emden sailor's hat (2)

Provenance
This bear comes from the Gralla family from Bayreuth. The mother of the child being lady-in-waiting to Emperor Wilhelm II, her father was a navy office on S.M.S. Emden.
