Lot Essay

Delabrierre exhibited regularly at the Salon between 1848-82. This model is similar to a seated hound composed with a tree stump hung with game and hunting paraphernalia. See Christopher Payne, Animals in Bronze, Antique Collectors' Club 1988, page 213, D39.
