A large Chinese kraak charger, Late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)
painted to the centre with a grasshopper and flying insects surrounded by leafy flowers and foligae issuing from rockwork, the wide rim with alternating cartouches of fruting branches and precious objects -- 19 7/8in. (50.5cm.) diam.
