A pair of Chinese egg and spinach Buddhistic lion joss stick holders, Kangxi (1662-1722)
each modelled seated on its back haunches with one foreleg raised, the male with a brocade ball and the female with a cub clambering at her side, their mouth open to reveal the menacing teeth, with a gu shaped lappet rimmed joss-stick holder at the back, supported on a rectangular plinth with a shaped apron -- max. 7¾in. (19.7cm.) high. (2)
