A Chinese famille rose figure of a laughing boy, 19th century
modelled seated with legs crossed holding a vase in front of the bare torso, wearing flowing pantaloons decorated with foliate floral sprays reserved on a pink ground, with one shoe projecting from the folds, the long flowing hair tied with a floral blue-ground band, adorned with a gilt ruyi-head pendent suspended from a coral ground necklace and gilt bracelets, the vase enamelled with a dragon pursuing the flaming pearl below further bands and moulded bats flanking the neck -- 6 11/16in. (16.9cm.) high, wood stand.
